Not only has Bally chosen the cutting-edge Swiss city of Zurich to highlight its heritage, but for the second year running, Bally is partnering with Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) to produce this visually stunning and entertaining ‘Bally Is Super’ exhibition.
Students from ZHdK Style&Design were initially invited to visit Bally’s archive at Schoenenwerd to develop ideas but soon found their inspiration in an original Bally shoe line and logo titled ‘BIS – Bally Is Super’.
Twelve design students have created the ‘Bally Is Super’ exhibition which takes visitors on a journey to discover 160 years of Bally shoe history. Visitors will enjoy an engaging and playful historical view of the brand based on extensive archive materials presented in various installations using a range of media formats. Further inspiration for the exhibition’s content and layout came from Bally’s own headquarters and stores. As visitors move through the exhibition, they will discover defining moments from Bally’s history presented in engaging and unique ways. The imaginative take on everything from shop windows to production areas to the CEO’s office to store floors are all designed to capture Bally’s modern design spirit and accentuate its 160 year heritage.
‘Bally Is Super’ opens at Bally’s flagship Zurich store on November 16, 2011 with an exclusive cocktail party to be attended by Bally CEO, Dr, Berndt Hauptkorn and invited VIP guests. The exhibition then runs until December 31, 2011.
