Bunga Bunga ‘an Englishman’s Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke’ will throw open its doors for a weekly party brunch that will offer a matinée show unlike any other in London.
Guests can enjoy the bespoke £40 brunch menu, including unlimited prosecco and bellinis, whilst feasting on a unique musical and visual display in the form of live entertainment, as well as partaking in some karaoke themselves. Brunch goers can expect regulars such as Ukulele Eric who is well loved for his rousing renditions of Lady Gaga and Dolly Parton’s ‘Nine to Five’, resident DJ Spider who buzzes off the weaker karaoke singers with a Britain’s Got Talent style machine complete with lit up crosses and buzzer, and even a drag queen compere. The line up will also feature unassuming opera singers who appear to be just regular customers and then burst into Nessun Dorma when guests least expect it, as well as a whole host of other surprise entertainment.
[pullquote_right]Bunga Bunga was launched last autumn by dynamic duo Duncan Stirling and Charlie Gilkes. Deriving its name from Italy’s most titillating joke, this tongue-in-cheek bar and pizzeria serves authentic cocktails and cuisine in a vibrant space dedicated to Italy’s finest icons and also houses an entire floor dedicated to the world’s most kitsch competition: The Eurovision Song Contest.[/pullquote_right]Diners can look forward toan authentic Italian three-course menu, starting with a selection of cured meats of Milano Salami, Prosciutto di Parma, Wild Boar and Capocollo. Then guests will choose from a selection of delicious and amusingly named pizzas including Bunga’s Benedict, topped with Hollandaise Sauce, Spinach and Smoked Salmon with a Soft Egg, An Englishman’s Italian Breakfast with Sausage, Mushrooms, Tomato, Pancetta with a Soft Egg and the truly decadent Silvio’s Sweet Seducer made with Chocolate Sauce, Banana and Strawberries. Guests will polish off the mouthwatering meal with homemade fruit-based gelato.
Talented General Manager, Robin Kay, has created several Bloody Maries with a unique Italian twist, including the Mediterranean Mary, featuring Grey Goose Vodka with Gin Mare, Coconut-infused Martini Rosso, Lemon Juice, Tomato Juice and Bunga Spices, and theSicilian Mary with Red Chilli and Basil-infused Grey Goose, Black Olives, Lemon Juice, Tomato Juice, Rosemary, Dates and Galliano Balsamic Vinegar. Drinkers can also sample the perfect range of brunch style bellinis accompanying the carafes of unlimited prosecco and will be able to enjoy everything from the red berry-based Rossini to the Bunga Mimosa – a zingy blend of fresh grapefruit and pomegranate juice. With the bubbles flowing freely, guests can then move into the bar area and find themselves swept up into the unique party atmosphere that has made Bunga Bunga so popular since its opening.
