Stuttgart. Porsche Design Group (Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft mbH & Co. KG) is opening a new Porsche Design Store in Munich’s city center. The store in the Dienerstrasse, which has a floor area of 220 square meters, follows a new store concept which focuses on the substantially extended fashion collection for women and men and highlights the iconic essence of Porsche Design products. At the opening on July 5, 2012 the luxury brand is presenting a limited edition wristwatch, all sales proceeds from which will go to the Tafel München e.V., a charitable organization which organizes food for Munich’s needy citizens.
“With our new store in the Dienerstrasse we are now appropriately represented in Munich”, says Juergen Gessler, CEO of Porsche Design Group. “In the last business year we increased our sales by 30 percent. And the first half of the current business year again shows a really positive trend, with an increase in double figures. We intend to support this growth by our ongoing sales and product offensive for Porsche Design.”
In the new store in Munich city center the complete product portfolio of the Porsche Design brand will be presented, ranging from the fashion collection for men and women and the sport collection, through luggage, eyewear, watches and writing tools, to cell phones, jewellery and accessories.
As a highlight at the opening of the store on July 5, the luxury brand will be presenting a very special version of the chronograph Porsche Design P’6620 Dashboard. This version, limited to three pieces priced at 5,000 Euro apiece, has a special engraving on the glass of the case back. All the proceeds from the sale of the three watches will be for the benefit of the Tafel München e.V..
The shop design of the store in the Dienerstrasse follows a global concept which highlights the iconic essence of the Porsche Design products. The characteristically light, fresh feeling underscores the lifestyle of the luxury brand and enables it to be experienced on a day-to-day level. Particular attention has been paid in the store to the aspect of sustainability: all the lighting installations use state-of-the-art LED technology – with the result that energy consumption has been reduced by more than 50 percent compared to the previous concept. With regard to the product portfolio of Porsche Design, the influence of the present concept is expressed mainly in the greatly enlarged fashion collection for women and men. It also provides for a separate area for the presentation of watches. The lounge area of the store invites customers to relax in comfort, while a large-format LCD screen brings the luxury brand to life.
Porsche Design is a luxury brand with a particular focus on technically inspired products. The brand was founded in 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, whose products have stood for functional, timeless and purist design ever since. The product portfolio includes classic men’s accessories, a sports and fashion collection, electronic products as well as a men’s fragrance line. The products are designed in the Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria and sold around the world in the company’s own stores, shop-in-shops, high end department stores and exclusive specialist retailers.
