In The Studio: So what are the producers up to?

We know who is making the music, when it comes out, the faces behind them, but who are the geniuses putting these musical masterpieces together? That’s right, the producers; dudes with long beards, a swirly computer chair and tinnitus. Here is what some of the top producers are up to this month:

Mike Crossey:

  • Arctic Monkeys/Foals/Razorlight/The Black Keys

Mike mixed the Ben Howard album which charted at No 7. Recently Mike has produced and mixed upcoming albums for Tribes, Ninet Tayebas well as mixing albums / singles for Bill Ryder Jones, Foe, Seye, The Dirty Rivers, My Morning Jacket. Mike is now working with Blood Red Shoes on their new album.

Dave Bascombe:

  • Placebo/Soulwax/Goldfrapp/Pendulum

Dave’s mixing singles or albums for Cloud Control, Sophia, Sneaky Sound System, Likely Lads and Blaqk Audio.

Bacon & Quarmby:

  • Finley Quaye/Richard Hawley/King Creosote/Sugababes

Kevin and Jonathan have been recording and mixing a second 5.1 cinema advert for Peronicampaign and are now in the studio with Phenomenal Handclap Band, Molotov Jukebox and Sheila McQueen

Jason Cox:

  • Gorillaz/Blur/Jamie T/Mr Hudson

Jason is in the studio working with Fantine and Reverend & The Makers

Chris Sheldon:

  • Foo Fighters/Oceansize/Biffy Clyro

Chris has mixed singles / albums for Bayside, Twin Atlantic, The King Blues, The Virginmarys, The Answer, Rival Schools, The Boxer Rebellion and produced and mixed a forthcoming Feeder lp
