Lonsdale, the iconic British boxing brand, has collaborated with The Royal British Legion, the nation’s leading Armed Forces charity, to launch a men’s and women’s apparel collection. The collaboration marks the 90th anniversary of the charity and celebrates the welfare work currently being undertaken with the serving and ex-service community and their families.
The collection includes Rugby Tops, Hooded Sweats, T-Shirts, Polo Shirts, Long Sleeve Tees and Fitted Tees, all bearing the Combined Services logo. The collection will be launched on Remembrance Day- 11.11.11 and will be retailed through sportsdirect.com .
Lonsdale is the official boxing equipment sponsor to all three British Combined Services including the Army, Navy and Royal Air Force. Lonsdale have always been a major supporter of the Combined Services, making the apparel collaboration with The Royal British Legion a natural extension.
The Royal British Legion’s Director of Fundraising Russell Thompson OBE comments, “The Legion recognises the vital part that activity, and sports in particular, play in physical and mental recovery of injured Service people, which is why we’re thrilled to be supported by Lonsdale. The money raised will go towards innovative welfare projects such as The Royal British Legion Battle Back Centre, a national centre of excellence for adaptive sport and adventure training for the recovery of injured Service people.”
