With 6,000 miles between Portsmouth and his homeland in South Africa, a jackass Penguin has been spotted around the Solent in Portsmouth.
Alongside the Indian summer that struck the UK last week, onlookers from the seaside-town spotted the Penguin waddling around the harbour earlier in the day, and later on he was actually caught on camera by Joanne Gordon, 35 from Aldershot who commented, “I couldn’t believe it when I saw it swimming around just six foot from me.”
It’s not the only random Penguin sighting as of late; just a few months ago an Antarctic Emperor Penguin dubbed ‘’happy feet’’ was spotted randomly in New Zealand.
It is thought that the Penguin was separated from its group and followed a food trail through the Atlantic to the Solent, avoiding predators such as Sharks and Seals.
Below is not the Penguin seen in Portsmouth, we just thought a little video of a Penguin would be fun.
