Ride into a town called Winterwell

This year’s most stylish boutique festival will come in the shape of Winterwell.  Founded six years ago by event organiser Josh Ford, Winterwell will take place in a sweeping valley in the Cotswolds between 29th June-2nd July, and this year will delve into the rich tradition of the Old West, an era with a spirit of wild adventure, with a unique interactive theme allowing everyone to get involved and star in their own spaghetti western.

Fancy dress is fundamental to Winterwell and this year’s theme looks set to be the best yet, with Winterwell being transformed into a frontier town for 3 days complete with saloon, cantina, bordello and jailhouse.  A Town called Winterwell will feature cowboys and Indians, frontier folk, dancing girls, bounty hunters, Mexicans, men of God, livestock and of course, the town drunk, all partaking in fancy drinking, fancy dancing and the fancy dress parade on the hillsides lined with prospectors’ gold.

Winterwell is known and loved for bringing their themes to life, and  this year they have brought in a creative team that specialise in immersive arts and creative installations. Attractions will include: a cabaret tent, debating tent, camp fires. a night lit woodland trail, sunset chill-out Bar, holistic field, massage tents, pingtron and a go to jail area for mischievous revellers to send their friends to.  There will also be a dedicated children’s play area including workshops, storytelling and games for little ones, and all accompanied under twelvesgo for free.

Winterwell is truly the feel good festival, the team behind the three day event are solely geared towards making their guests comfortable which means: No long hikes (especially from the car park), no endless queues, free hot showers, spacious camping areas, delicious food and drink stalls, all in a beautiful and idyllic setting.

For those who love festivals but don’t really enjoy roughing it there will be a luxurious camping area with bell tents and tipis to hire featuring soft and extravagant queen-sized beds, electricity and security.

Musically Winterwell prides itself on regularly discovering acts which go on to great things, and is known for its hugely eclectic range of music on offer from folk and indy to electro, funk and house.  This year there will be four musical stages with Moshi Moshi records hosting one of them throughout the weekend.  Acts so far confirmed include:  Norman Jay, The Nextmen, Slow Club, Casiokids, London Afro Beat, The Shoestrung, Dollar Bill, Oh! Gunquit, Jess Morgan, Kidnap Alice, Stillhouse Orchestra, Perhaps Contraption. DJs include: DJ Count Skylarkin, DJ’S Slim & Slim, Ellie Shepherd, DJ Count Sizzle, Hoppy, Lou Young, The Boom Brothers, Jim Doc, Konal, The Milky bar Kid. And many , many more.
