The Topman Design Spring Summer 2011 boy is found hanging around the record shops of Brighton, rifling through the vintage stores for authentic pieces and second hand finds. Slightly psychedelic and mod in style he is not afraid to mix old with new, techno wi retro, honing his look through accessories and styling.
[pullquote_right]This season the Topman Design show will be streamed live on TOPMAN.COM/LFW and londonfashionweek.co.uk – as well as live in the window of TOPMAN’s Oxford Street store – and for the very first time this season a very limited number of pieces from the show will be made available to purchase on-line directly after the show at TOPMAN.COM/LFW[/pullquote_right]
Vibrant floral shirts are worn under charcoal traditional suits or with boxing shorts tied tight with thick leather belts – a key piece for the season coming in fresh fabrics. This silhouette which is statement throughout, is somewhat boys club in appearance short bodied and high waisted. Canvas pilot pants and shorts with gunmetal detailing are also worn high and tied with belts or canvas hip satchels. Washed authentic vintage sweats are worn tucked in to shorts with matching parkas in lustrous nylons. Rich silk panelled shirts are worn sleeves rolled up with canvas pilot pants and suede stab-stitched boots. Kitsch motif knits bring humour – such as the urban fox which is found repeated across jersey vests and shirts. Over-sized canvas military bags come heavily decorated with retro tie pins, as are thin strap belts which bring key detailing to plain waistlines. Short crops and waved fringes give a true modern edge and worn with over-sized Lennon glasses complete this young, fresh, modern look.
