Volvo Trucks records music video in new TV series

In ‘Reality Road’, the artist Mapei goes on a road trip with friend and director Liza Morberg. Together they recorded the video for her new song Million Ways to Live – specially written for life on the road. The song plus music video will be released in the beginning of July.

In Volvo Trucks’ new TV series, best friends Mapei and Liza Minou Morberg travel from Sweden to Italy in a specially designed Volvo truck. During nine days, they will shoot a music video for Million Ways to Live a single from Mapei’s upcoming album, while everything is documented by television cameras. She wrote the song especially for the series a week before the trip through Europe.

“I love to travel and to get the opportunity to meet new people and cultures. And that is also what Million Ways to Live is about – the freedom to be out on the road. It is the ultimate song for a road trip,” says Mapei, whose most recent single was the hit ‘Don’t Wait’.

For Volvo Trucks, the series is a new original way to reach out with their products. “With ‘Reality Road’ we want to show the strength of our service offerings,” says Per Nilsson, Director Public Relations Volvo Trucks. “For a truck to stay on the road, the services that are linked to it are just as important as the vehicle itself. At the same time, we want to produce TV entertainment that attracts a wider audience. As far as I know, no other company has used reality TV for marketing purposes,” he says.

In addition to Mapei and Liza, the audience will also get to know ‘Epic Split’ driver Jens Karlsson and miniature schnauzer Sushi, and also follow Mapei as she gets acquainted with and challenges the trucking world. Among other things, we see her when she performs with drag show artists on a truck ferry to Poland, arranges a spontaneous gig in the suburbs of Paris, or accompanies a two wheel stunt in Berlin.

The series comprises a total of eight episodes. The first three are published on Volvo Trucks’ YouTube channel on June 11.
