X-Factor leads the way in Brits betting

The Brit Award nominations have been made and William Hill think the X-Factor looks as though it could dominate the ceremony. James Arthur is the 5/1 favourite to win the Best British single for his winner’s single Impossible, although Emeli Sande and Robbie Williams are just behind at 6/1.

Another product of the X-Factor that could feature heavily at the Brit Awards is One Direction. Having cracked America as well as bagging three top ten singles in the UK, the boys are 10/11 favourites to win Best British group ahead of Mumford and Sons (2/1) and Muse (9/2).

Olly Murs rounds off the X-Factor’s domination of the Brits betting as he heads the market for Best British male at 4/5 ahead of Plan B (3/1) and Calvin Harris (4/1).

“It could be argued that 2012 was the X-Factor’s weakest year, but its legacy can be seen by the amount of acts that have been nominated for top gongs at this year’s Brits,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “On top of that, many of these acts are favourites for their particular categories.”

2012 was a fantastic year for Emeli Sande as she was one of the highlights at the Olympics Opening and Closing Ceremonies and she could round it off with at least one Brit. She is 2/5 to win the award for Best British female solo artist ahead of Amy Winehouse at 3/1 while she is also 2/5 to scoop Best British album.
